The Angels Among Us Board of Directors work tirelessly to keep up with many challenges these families face in our community. Members have a rich history of public service. Their wide range of backgrounds and professional expertise yield a diverse, dynamic, and dedicated team with a hands-on approach to issues affecting the children and their families. The leadership, time, talent and charity of the Board of Directors are at the forefront of Angel Among Us efforts and accomplishments.
Kevin O'Mara (Chairman) - Kevin and his wife Melissa live in Omaha, NE. They have a son Chase who is 2 years old, and a 2 daughter Kinsley. Kevin's wife is a middle school teacher for Millard Public schools. Kevin has a B.S. in business Marketing Management and is an investment advisor with Feltz Wealth PLAN where he holds his series 7, 66 and Life, Health and Annuities licenses. A native of Oakland, NE, Kevin enjoys time with his family and friends and whenever possible loves to golf.
Chip Duden (Vice Chair) - Chip is AVP of Customer Service for Werner Enterprises logistics division, Value Added Services. He and his wife Lori have two children; Kallie and Trip. Chip is a music and photography buff and donates time to the Open Door Mission and Playing with Fire concert series.
Jane Pohlman (Treasurer) - Jane and her husband Craig live in Omaha, NE. They have three girls, Anie, Stephanie, and Carly. They lost Craig's sister and one of her best friends to cancer in 2005. Craig is President/Owner of TSA manufacturing, President of the Millard Star soccer association, Board of Merry Makers and also an avid golfer. They are owners of the Lincoln Stars Hockey Team. Jane is on 9 boards including Cox Classic.
Shain Heiss (Secretary) - Shain is founder and president of Lakota Foods, a tribally-owned enterprise of the Lower Brule Sioux Indian Tribe of South Dakota. Shain holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from South Dakota State University and an MBA from the University of Nebraska, Omaha. He and his son, Hudson, live in Omaha and enjoy following all of Hudson’s many sporting events and activities. Shain enjoys riding his Harley, spending time with friends and family, and just about any other activity from water sports to winter sports and everything in between.
Katie Manganaro - Katie and her husband Nick live in Omaha, Nebraska. Katie has a B.S. in Marketing/Management and Travel & Tourism from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and is currently employed as the Director of Casino Marketing for Harrah's & Horseshoe Casinos in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She became involved with Angels Among Us on a volunteer basis in the fall of 2008 and assisted as a Silent Auction Coordinator for the November "A Night Among Angels" event. After having a chance to learn more about this amazing organization and how it helps its families during difficult times, she decided to join the Board to be involved on a much broader level.
Drew Lundgren - Drew is the President of CAS Inc., a Database Marketing company located in Omaha. Drew’s background is in the sales, management and business development roles within leading information services companies. Drew is married to Kristin, who is also an active volunteer in the community. They have two children, Carsen and Parker. While most his free time is spent attending his children’s sporting events, Drew also enjoys training and competing in triathlons. Drew and Kristin are also involved with the American Cancer Society, 90 WAYS, the Clarkson Service League, and the Rose Theater Board of Directors.
Russell A. Westerhold - Russ and his wife Caroline live in Ashland, Nebraska, with their son Cooper. Russ is an attorney at Fraser Stryker PC LLC in Omaha. Caroline is also a practicing attorney. Russ graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University (1999) and the University of Nebraska School of Law (2002). Russ is a native of Pender, Nebraska and enjoys hunting, golf, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball in his spare time.
Kelly Krings - Kelly and his wife Melanie live in Omaha, NE. Melanie is an office manager for the Executive MBA program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Kelly has a B..A. in Business Administration from Dana College and an MBA from Bellevue University. He has been active with the Open Door Mission, American Cancer Society, and the Avon Breast Cancer Foundation. He enjoys basketball, golf, music, and making a difference.
Corey Schaecher -Corey resides in Omaha, NE and is currently employed as a System Software Specialist for Omaha Public Power District (OPPD). He has an Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Southeast Community College Milford, a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and a Master's Degree in Management of Information Systems from the University of Nebraska Omaha. He holds graduate certifications in Information Assurance and System Analysis and Design. A native of Lindsay, NE he enjoys using his technical background helping various causes in the community.
Steve Sorensen – Steve and his wife Kym were both raised in Omaha, now residing in Elkhorn, NE. They have four wonderful children Jake, Conner, Ellie and Nate whom attend Elkhorn schools. Kym owns and operates KS Design, a home design and custom blind and drapery business. Steve is the Nebraska Market President for Great Southern Bank, a $4 Billion Commercial Banking operation with over 100 branch loactions. As an SID Board member, Steve has facilitated the enhancement of Elkhorn’s economic development assisting in the design and build-out of residential and commercial developments. The couple is actively involved in the children’s sporting events, school activities and church functions. Steve enjoys boating, golfing, hunting and spending with family and friends.
Joey Crocker – Joey and his wife Kay reside in Omaha with their three boys, Henry, George and Jack. Joey is employed with Roche Diagnostics, a leading medical research and diagnostics company. Kay is also in the diagnostics industry and works part time with the Alere Group of companies. Joey enjoys spending time with his sons, coaching their baseball and hockey teams as well as training and competing in triathlons. Joey and Kay are active in the Ridges Homeowners Association, Omaha Triathlon and Omaha Women's Triathlon, and the Spring Ridge PTO. Kay is active in the Angels Among Us Guild and is a co-chair for the 2012 "Cheers to the Angels" Wine Tasting event .
Jeff Eikmeier – Jeff and his wife Jamie reside in Omaha, NE. They have two girls, Taylor & Ally. Jeff is currently Vice President of Commercial Banking at Mutual of Omaha Bank where he provides lending and treasury services to business clients. He received his B.S. in Finance and his MBA from Creighton University. Jamie is an active volunteer in the community and church. Originally from Columbus, NE, Jeff enjoys hunting, golf, and Creighton basketball in his spare time.
Scott Vokoun - Scott and his wife Lora live in Omaha with their two children Tyler and Gracie. After their wedding they moved to California for eight years enjoying all that the West Coast has to offer. Upon starting a family Scott and Lora felt the urge to move back to the Heartland and be close to family. Scott is the General Manager of Omaha Truck Center and Lora is an Elementary Teacher with Papillion-LaVista School District. Scott is involved with Omaha Truck Center’s annual Golf Benefit that has raised well over a million dollars for the Nebraska Chapter of Make a Wish.
Angie Kubicek – Angie and her husband Todd live in Omaha with their daughter Alice. Angie has her B.S in Marketing from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and is currently employed at Hayneedle as the Social Media Manager. Todd is a Mechanical Engineer for Specialized Engineering Solutions and recently received his Professional Engineering license. When not working, Angie and Todd enjoy spending time with their daughter and dog Lander, camping, fishing, and hanging out with family and friends.
Ashley Homan – Ashley joined the Angels Among Us board in the fall of 2011. We will be updating her bio shortly.
